Wants and Needs

We have wants just as much as we have needs.

Wants are based off what our feelings and emotions may be entangled in at the time. Wants are only temporary; they last until a certain point and then are replaced by another want. For instance remember that one toy you wanted as a child. You may not want it just as bad as you did as a child, if you want it at all anymore. As knowledge and situations in life grow and change, so does your wants.

Needs are based off what is reqired for you to live a stable, sane life. Needs tend to expand and last for decades or even centuries and never change at all. Our needs are standards that we must live by no matter what.

So often many times, we group wants and needs together on the same plate. Some of us want more often than we have needs.

Wants won't ever stop. You constantly will have to tweak and improve what and who you want. Wants are often expensive and wastes money in the long run.

Needs will always be relevant in the state that you recognize them. Needs are cheap if not free.

God gave us "wants" to get the job done. "Wants" inspire us for the good when experienced properly. God gave us "needs" to abide and live by. We should never worship our "wants" or "needs"; rather the giver who is none other than our Father in Heaven.

The sooner you seperate and distinguish your wants from your needs, you will soon find success in everything you do and in everyone you come in contact with. The key to sorting these is simply asking God for the wisdom to make these thoughts with precision.
