Controlling, not ignoring the Urge. The erotica. The sexuality. The body. The sex organs. The mind.
Sex is designed by God for man and woman. Created to pleasure those who are in unified through marriage. Every position, every idea, every way God intended for this intimacy to be pleasuring to all aspects of our bodies.
With this gift to us, also comes responsibility. God knows when we come of age and maturity, that we at a certain point become interested and fascinated by sex. God highly stresses that within marriage, sex is safe. Many argue that sex outside of marriage can be safe as well. But is it smart?
Sex is like our hunger; it needs to be done at the right times. You don't eat everytime you're hungry; you eat at appointed times (breakfast, lunch, dinner). You need to know when to abstain (fast) from sex to concentrate on other, more important things. With a spouse (of the opposite sex), this abstaining (fasting) at the right moments can not only help both partners but also make that sexual and intellectual bond closer, all together making the couple able to last even through temptation.
Fasting from sex and anything that inspires for sex should be done on the regular. It helps concentration and praying. Fasting is periodical, it doesn't last forever. Couples who fast together, stay together.
God gives us the decision when to have sex. He advises marriage but knows we each have needs. Are you willing to deal with the new responsibilities that come with having sex outside of marriage? Are you willing to control and fast from it when needed?
