Revenge

"Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love."

-Martin Luther King, Jr.

In a world where we are taught to be reactive and not proactive, there are constant lashing outs. These methods for returning the disfavor, disagreement, dysfunction, disservice and disrupter is called "Revenge".

For ages, revenge has been a catalyst that devestated relationships with the people around us. Initially one person has wronged the other, but in revenge both people are wrong.

For it is written for us not to be overcome by evil. This means we are supposed to be good by nature! You can't be overcome by something you already are. It is also written for us to overcome evil with good. You can overcome something that isn't.

"Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord."
(Romans 12:19 NIV)

Allow God to make that decision. Who are we to seek revenge on evil when we ourselves are initially evil? Pray that through the whole ordeal, God receives the glory. Not our boastful spirits. May God increase your blessings!
