Genesis 1:26-27
There is an image crisis amongst us today.
Many of us are not pleased with what God has given us physically. We bicker about who has the more attractive characteristics. We observe and obsess over media in which most people have covered, removed, or enhanced their "flaws". The opposite sex is given an image, not of true self to delight in.
Male therefore is "successful", because he is able to get with a woman who sacrifices much of her God given image for a lesser, "popular" one.
Female is deemed "beautiful", "sexy", or "attractive" when she can disguise, cover, and/or remove her less desirable traits.
In the beginning God created male and female to His specifications. The male and female body are an impressive, beautiful complex of nature and spirit combined as one. Women and Men are beautifully and wonderfully made-God delights in creating us in the womb.
God created you and I in His own image. Many things in nature are elegant, yet the human body is an astounding feat that He has set above all other creations.
Maybe you have an image problem. You constantly view the media around us. There is no problem with this, but realize that in the world of entertainment and beauty, there are much changes to the individual on the outside. Do not let these changes become your own goals: God created us without these things for a reason. Not everyone is deceived by these photoshopped images-there are men and women who embrace the beauty God has already set in us and compliment it. Many women and men today worship these images of distorted bodies and artificial features in hopes that they will one day meet them. Sadly to their dismay, these images do not exist.
Beautiful people are created entirely in Christ.
