God gets the glory.
Not you, not I, not them, not anyone. Our God is almighty and in Him we are made to do great things!
God had made Peter and John pretty low as far as the standards of society: they were poor, they didn't have an established career, they sold all they had to go and roam around.
God made them low in the eyes of us, but he replaced in them tools, resources, and gifts of the spirit. By these things, Christ empowered them to perform miracles and feats that no man or woman could do. In return they Gave God the glory and used these things to spread the Gospel.
Times have very much changed since the bible days for us, but one thing is held self evident: God allows us to be tried and fail by the rules and standards of our society. He only does this to raise us up in the spirit, so that we may go out and impact lives and give all the glory to Him, alone. Afterwards He will restore us to more than what we had before. He did the same with Jesus, then the disciples and now us. Please know that your struggle in the world's eyes and standards are for the prevalence of God. He will provide, but we must give Glory and spread the gospel just like Peter and John in Acts 3:6-16!
Have a blessed day!
